Equal Pay Day COVID19 Panel Discussion

Women have been disproportionately negatively affected by the COVID19 pandemic. Emergencies such as this have happened in the past and will continue to happen in the future until we dramatically change the systems and structures within which we live. Women already experience a gender pay gap averaging 14% and emergencies such as these risk women falling further behind which is unacceptable.

Join us on Equal Pay Day as we talk to 3 great experts about the impacts of COVID19 on working women and what they think needs to happen next to ensure women are not left behind in the pandemic recovery.

Panelists will be:

Tanja Kovac
CEO Genvic, Melbourne, Victoria

Andrea Carson
Political scientist and an Associate Professor in journalism in the Department of Politics, Media and Philosophy at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Victoria

Nareen Young
Industry Professor, Indigenous Policy (Indigenous Workforce Diversity) at Jumbunna Institute of Indigenous Education and Research at University of Technology, Sydney, NSW.

The event is hosted by Victorian Trades Hall Council and will be facilitated by the co-Leads of the Women's Team, Jodi Peskett and Pia Cerveri.
